If you file, disclose or search for issuer information in Canada’s capital markets, you are likely very familiar with SEDAR. If you’ve been working in the industry for a while, you probably feel like you could use SEDAR in your sleep.
When SEDAR+ launches on June 13, it will introduce some significant changes to the workflow filers are used to. It will also change the way investors search for issuer information. While these changes will bring improvements to the user experience in the long run, everyone should expect a learning curve when working in the new web-based application. Similar to when you get a new cell phone or computer, it will take some time to get used to it.

We have some tools to help you level out that learning curve—and your journey can start right now. New courses are regularly being added to the SEDAR+ Learning Centre, with step-by-step instructions on everything from setting up new user accounts, to completing different types of filings.
Filers can dive deeper into specific topics by attending our live, virtual learning events. New events are being added all the time, so be sure to keep an eye on the schedule.
Closer to launch, we will introduce the SEDAR+ Help Centre, which will serve as a valuable tool when you begin to use the system. It is designed to provide resources and answer questions that may arise as you work, right at your fingertips.

SEDAR+ is designed to be intuitive and provide a much more intuitive experience for investors. It brings multiple systems under one digital roof to make it much easier to access the information you need to make informed investment decisions.
Get a head start and familiarize yourself with how to conduct extensive searches of Cease Trade Orders, the Disciplined List, and Reporting Issuer lists from all jurisdictions.

If you are used to completing securities filings in SEDAR, moving from a desktop app to a web-based application will be a change for you. While SEDAR+ is more user-friendly, it may take some time to build your comfort level.
