We’re nearly there: SEDAR+ launches on June 13

In just over one month, the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) will launch SEDAR+. We are in the final stages of preparing to take the system live on June 13.

Over the last several months, we have been working with filers in Canada’s capital market to prepare them for the changes to come. We have now completed the pre-launch Onboarding process and launched the SEDAR+ Learning Centre. We have already hosted several virtual learning events, with many more planned for this month and following go-live.

As we enter the final stretch, the CSA has a dual focus: Ensuring the system is ready to go and ensuring capital market participants are ready to use it.

Transition

We know it will take some time to adjust to the new SEDAR+ workflow. To help with the transition, we are focused on preparing future SEDAR+ users by regularly adding new courses to the SEDAR+ Learning Centre and offering a steady program of virtual learning events.

Please check our schedule of upcoming learning events and stay tuned to the SEDAR+ Events page for regular updates. SEDAR+ filing organizations will also be sent updates in SEDAR+ Transition.

The transition does not stop on June 13

SEDAR+ is a significant undertaking and it will not meet everyone’s needs right out of the gate. As is often the case when transitioning significant amounts of data from one system to another, extra attention may be required at the beginning to ensure the data is set up correctly.

We will be closely monitoring and supporting users as they experience SEDAR+ for the first time. We will also be collecting feedback. The system will undergo quarterly software updates, continually improving and evolving based on the feedback received.

Over time, new features will be added to SEDAR+ to further improve the user experience for all users, and eventually replace SEDI and NRD/NRS. The CSA is committed to continue working with capital market participants, to ensure our National Systems better meet industry needs.

Sincerely,

David Fountain
