The latest quarterly update to SEDAR+ was completed on March 2, 2025. It includes fixes for reported user experience issues as noted below:
Functionality issues that have been fixed
- Private stand-alone investment funds can be searched and added to third party filings.
- Application, Pre-filing and Waiver investment fund filings no longer display the message ‘You have selected the same investment fund twice. Please, remove any duplicate investment fund from the list of selected profiles’.
- Form 72-503F Report of Distributions outside Canada filings no longer display the message ‘Unexpected system error’ when non-Canadian telephone numbers are entered.
Filing updates
- Modernization of the prospectus filing model for investment funds
- Prospectus filing changes that support regulatory changes modernizing the prospectus filing model for investment funds that reduce regulatory burden.
- Form 72-503F Report of Distributions outside Canada
- ‘Description of security’ field is available for all types of security.
- Label updates to align with the Form 45-106F1 Report of Exempt Distribution.
IMPORTANT:
- Drafts
- If you have draft Long Form and Simplified prospectus submissions for investment funds or 72-503F forms created before March 1, your drafts must be deleted and recreated so they reflect the changes.
- Investment Fund profile updates
- To ensure the correct filing fees are calculated, the ‘Type of investment fund’ and ‘Category of investment fund’ on investment fund profiles should be reviewed and updated as required. Note: the categories ‘Other’ and ‘Not provided’ will result in incorrect fee calculations.
- Fee attributes section
- The system will no longer check if document(s) have additional fee attributes at the time of the document attachment.
- The filing’s progress tracker on the fee attributes section will not display a red error symbol if the fee attributes are not entered prior to the ‘Review and submit’ section.
- The ‘Submit’ button will be greyed out until the user returns to the ‘Fee attributes’ section and enters the required details.
- Note that if any fee attributes were missed, the ‘Fee attributes’ page will not display an ‘incomplete’ error message. This is a priority issue that will be addressed as soon as possible.
- The system will no longer check if document(s) have additional fee attributes at the time of the document attachment.

Ongoing system performance improvements
Filing submission details
- When a user clicks on the submission number link in the filing’s ‘Submissions’ tab, a PDF with the submission details is generated and saved as a PDF in the user’s download folder.
- The filing number and the issuer’s profile number are included in the submission details.
