SEDAR+ quarterly update: April 2024

The next quarterly update to SEDAR+ is planned to be completed on April 7, 2024. This is the second in a series of regular system updates, which enhances both the filing and public search experience.

Please note that while the SEDAR+ update is in progress between 11 p.m. April 5 to 7 a.m. April 7, SEDAR+, the Help Centre and Learning Centre are not available.

This update includes enhancements to the user experience and behind-the-scenes technical updates to improve system performance.

  • All users can now search the content of readable PDF documents filed on SEDAR+. (Readable PDFs are documents that can be read by our search engine, image-based PDFs such as paper scans cannot be read.)
  • Here are examples of information you can find through document content search:
    • Any news releases that mention keywords of interest (E.g., crypto or AI), by entering the keyword on the Document search tab and selecting News Release Document Type(s).
    • An individual named in a Cease Trade Order that is filed against an issuer, by entering the individual’s name on the Cease Trade Order search tab.

Search experience improvements

  • The public search experience is streamlined by removing the ‘Filings’ search tab and including filing search filters on the ‘Documents’ search tab.
  • To simplify the download of search result documents, the default number of search results is changed to 30. While the default will now match the maximum number of documents that can be downloaded at one time (30), public users can still change the default to be 10, 30 or 50 search results on a page.
  • A descriptive label is added to all supporting documents for Cease Trade Order search results. Each document is labelled ‘Cease trade order’, ‘Management cease trade order (MCTO)’ or ‘Halt Trade Order’ to simplify the search for these specific regulatory actions.
  • Additional improvements to the search experience, such as updating explanatory text, field labels and how pages display information.

Filer experience

  • Improved field labels, placeholder text and error messages.
  • When maintaining a document after a fee has increased, SEDAR+ no longer charges filers the difference between the old and new fee.

Technical Updates

  • Configuration changes and software updates to improve system performance.
